Is ARCANE Really Overrated?
The first review that i thought i wanna give a little opinion on is ARCANE.
Arcane is actually airing in 2021, and i actually saw my netflix homepage showing Arcane being trending and all that stuff but i didn't give it a go until now because of certain things. First of all Arcane is actually from League of Legends and at first i kinda feel skeptical about it. Because when you see a game animated adaptation, you kinda don't expect much just because it's kinda rare to see. I actually gonna watch it when i first saw it, because i play mobile legends and kinda assume that the character are the same as League of Legends which obviously i found out that it isn't. I mean i do think mobile legends's characters are inspired by LoL and Dota (correct me if i am wrong lol).
Yeah, so i made the the decision that i won't watch it at that time until i watch Trash Taste Podcast. To give you a background story of what's Trash Taste Podcast , is actually a podcast of my favorite anime youtubers and they talk a lot about anime also not anime lol. Actually i would recommending it to anyone (not just who like anime) who like to listen to a podcast to go check them out.
Anyways as i was saying, as i watch so many episodes of Trash Taste Podcast, they always mention that Arcane is really good and you don't actually have to play LoL if you want to enjoy Arcane. The funny thing is when i listen to that podcast, there's actually one guy name Joey who actually don't want to watch Arcane because the hype around it cause he thought it would be overrated, and the other two guys would always convinced him to watch it. The thing is, the amount of times they would mention Arcane is got me really courious and eventually started to watch it.
And let me tell you, IT IS SO GOOD. The story is good, the music, plot, character development, animation, ect. First of all gonna talk about that story and character that actually my favorite part of it. Cause, when i think about game story adaptation, i imagine it's gonna be a cartoony by the book kinda story where there is actually bad guy and hero and then boom.. fight. No!, Arcane isn't anything like that at all. You actually feel the the emotion and character development of all the character. I am just saying that there's no "bad" character in Arcane. The reason i said that because at the end of the day you feel sympathy towards them whether subjectively they're evil or good character.
The story and plot, it's a chef kiss. I remember everytime i finished the episodes, my mouth is wide open cause the amount of shock i get. It's just one of edge of the seat shows make you intrigued and watch it in a one go cause you always wanna know what happens next. And oh my god the plot twist is hitting you so hard. I remember finishing Arcane in a go, no stopping or whatever and i literally felt speechless. Now that i think about it, i immediately searched for 'When is S2 Arcane's coming up' as soon as i finished that, and for your information it's 2023 and obviously i am very excited about.
And don't get me started with the animation lol, it's awesome. Cool character design, the amount of detail put into the background, animation is dope. And the soundtrack actually really good as well. The animation, design, music and story really fit each other, and there is actually a time where i got goosebumps when the music hits and the fight scene starts.
If you like anime you will like it, If don't watch anime you still will like it lmao. It's only 9 episode but it didn't feel rushed or long. It's capturing the amount of story you have with all of these character perfectly. The shows is kinda dark and mysterious and also fun and epic in a same time. I highly recommending this to anyone. Yes, you don't have to play LoL or like anime to enjoy it just fine as the the other people cause you will get the same experience.
The to answer my question in the title, is it overrated? I really don't think so. I think is one of those shows where i wish i could watch it for the first time again. Well, it's my review and opinion on Arcane.. Highly recommend and i will see you next time.
See ya, Goodbye.
